What if i succeed?

We talk a lot about the fear of failure.

What if I try and it doesn’t work?
What if I put myself out there and I’m rejected?
What if I take the leap and discover I’m not capable of what I thought I was?

So often, the answer to those questions is to stay where we are.

We stay with what is familiar. We stay with what we know. We convince ourselves that we are being practical, patient, or realistic.

But sometimes, underneath the fear of failure, there is another question quietly waiting:

What if I succeed?

Because success can ask something of us, too.

It can ask us to step outside of the identity we have known. To be seen. To take up space. To become responsible for the choices we have made. To leave behind the comfort of saying someday and begin living in the reality of now.

And that can feel incredibly vulnerable.

The known may not be where we want to stay, but at least we know how to navigate it.

The unknown asks us to trust ourselves.

What if it doesn't work?

Maybe it doesn't.

Maybe the relationship ends.
Maybe the business doesn't take off the way you imagined.
Maybe the opportunity you hoped for isn't the right one after all.

That doesn't mean you have failed.

Sometimes what we call failure is simply information.

It shows us what isn't working. It gives us a different perspective. It asks us to pause, reassess, and perhaps try again—but this time with a little more wisdom, a little more clarity, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.

There is courage in beginning again.

In fact, sometimes the bravest thing we can do is allow ourselves to try something differently rather than allowing one disappointing outcome to define what is possible for us.

So what are we really afraid of?

Maybe it isn't failure.

Maybe it is vulnerability.

The vulnerability of wanting something deeply enough to risk not getting it.

The vulnerability of being seen trying.

The vulnerability of discovering that we are capable of more than we have allowed ourselves to believe.

And perhaps, even more vulnerable than failing is succeeding—and then having to step fully into the person we are becoming.

That can feel uncomfortable, too.

But discomfort doesn't always mean we're on the wrong path.

Sometimes discomfort is simply what growth feels like when we are no longer hiding inside what is familiar.

What if you succeed?

What if you allow yourself to try?

What if you don't need to know exactly how everything will unfold before you take the first step?

What if you could trust that even if things don't go according to plan, you will learn something, gather yourself, and find the courage to begin again?

You don't have to guarantee the outcome.

You only have to be willing to meet yourself along the way.

Sometimes the path to where we want to be isn't about avoiding failure.

It's about becoming willing to risk it.

To dig deep for the courage to do the thing that matters.

To let go of the belief that getting it wrong means we have failed.

And to remember that every attempt gives us an opportunity to see ourselves—and our possibilities—from a different lens.

So maybe the question isn't:

What if I fail?

Maybe it's:

What if I succeed?

And maybe the answer doesn't need to be certain.

Maybe it simply needs to be:

I'm willing to find out.

You don’t have to be fearless - you just have to be willing to discover what is on the other side of trying.

If this resonates but you are not sure how to take the next step, book a discovery call and let’s find out together!

Abundant Blessings,

Kari
